Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about Flightblog – from your first boarding pass to iCloud sync.

Getting Started

Three ways:

  • Scan a boarding pass: Tap the scanner button and hold your boarding pass (paper or Wallet) in front of the camera – date, route and flight number are read automatically.
  • Apple Wallet: Tap the boarding pass in Wallet → Share → Flightblog.
  • Manually: Tap + in the Timeline tab.

Flightblog reads the IATA BCBP standard – QR and Aztec codes on paper and digital passes. Supported airlines include Lufthansa, Swiss, KLM, Air France, British Airways, Ryanair, easyJet, Turkish Airlines and many more.

Proprietary barcodes from some low-cost carriers may not be readable – add those manually.

Yes. Upcoming flights appear at the top of the Timeline with relative labels (“Next week” etc.). Statistics and Year in Review intentionally exclude future flights.

Data & Import

Yes, via CSV file. Export your data from the other app, then open the file via Share in Flightblog. The format is documented under Settings → Data → Import / Export.

Wallet app → boarding pass → Share → Flightblog. You can also open a .pkpass file directly from the Files app.

Settings → Data → Export. You’ll get a CSV file to save via AirDrop, email or the Files app.

iCloud & Sync

Flightblog uses SwiftData with CloudKit – the same framework as Notes and Reminders. Your data syncs automatically and encrypted via your personal iCloud account to all devices with the same Apple ID (iPhone, iPad, Mac) – no setup required.

No. Your data lives only on your device and in your personal iCloud. No tracking, no ads, no third-party servers.

  • Same Apple ID on both devices?
  • Enough iCloud storage (Settings → [Name] → iCloud)?
  • Internet connection available?
  • Try closing and reopening the app.

The first sync after a fresh install may take a few minutes.

Full Version & Purchase

Flightblog is free with no time limit – up to 25 flights. The full version (one-time purchase, no subscription) unlocks unlimited flights. Find the price in the app under Settings → Full Version.

Settings → Full Version → Restore Purchase. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID as the original purchase.

Yes. The one-time purchase covers all devices with the same Apple ID – iPhone, iPad and Mac, no extra cost.

Per year: flights, total distance, Earth laps, flight time, longest flight, new countries, top airline, top aircraft, top airport, top route and busiest month.
